Lenten Small Groups
Choristers Program
Riverside Presbyterian Church is offers a program of free music education for children in grades 2-6. Choristers build skills in singing, musicianship, music theory, teamwork, and leadership. Our program is modeled on English cathedral choirs, which have been enriching the lives of children for hundreds of years. This program is open and welcoming to children of any or no religious background. For more information, e-mail

Director of Music Ministries
Matt Bickett centers his music ministry on the importance of diverse sacred music traditions—especially incorporating diversity of gender, race, and geographical origin—with sensitivity to the musical needs of culturally diverse and intergenerational worshipping communities. Equally at home with historic and contemporary music, Matt’s performances utilize styles and techniques informed by the latest research. Reviewers have described his performances as “rare and interesting” (ClevelandClassical) and “masterfully negotiated” (Bloomington Herald Times). His career has also been recognized with awards including First Prize in the Quimby Competition for Young Organists, the Presser Foundation Award, and the Hugh Porter Prize from the Yale Institute of Sacred Music. Recent performance engagements have taken him to such notable venues as St. Mark’s Cathedral in Seattle, Community of Christ Auditorium in Kansas City, and First (Scots) Presbyterian Church in Charleston, SC; and in Europe to Kungsbacka, Sweden; Haarlem, the Netherlands; Poitiers, France; and Smarano, Italy. Alongside his musical career, Matt actively maintains his theological and musicological research. He also enjoys experimenting with locally roasted pour-over coffee brewing, exploring off-the-beaten-path churches in European cities, and staying up-to-date on the latest Marvel blockbusters.

Juneteenth Prayer Vigil
Monday, June 19, 7:00 am - 7:00 pm
In the spirit of Matthew 25, and on the occasion of Juneteenth, join us for a Prayer Vigil on Monday, June 19, as we seek God’s presence, asking for the Holy Spirit to revive our City with a fresh wind of justice and righteousness for all. You are invited to visit the sanctuary anytime between 7:00 am and 7:00 pm. The prayer vigil will be a self-guided experience, designed for individual or group prayer, silent or spoken. Families are welcome to participate.
There will be 3 prayer stations:
1. Prayers of Praise for God’s heart on matters of love, justice and equality;
2. Prayers of Confession and Lament for past and current wrongs
3. Prayers of Petition for individuals and organizations, including RPC, for bringing God’s Kingdom on earth as it is in heaven.
We are looking for volunteers willing to host and greet Prayer Vigil participants for a 2 hour shift.

For our 8th Graders. We believe Confirmation Class is an important part of our adolescent's faith journey. It is a place to learn, to ask questions and to be joined on the journey of faith by adult teachers and mentors. At the end of this class there is an option to join the church. When the class does not meet, the 8th graders can attend the Youth Class in the Youth House.
